Abstract

My interdisciplinary work combines artificial intelligence and oceanography to improve the detection and tracking of oceanic eddies using high-resolution satellite imagery and Deep Learning techniques.

By harnessing neural network architectures, we have been able to achieve a significant improvement in reliability, precision and robustness of the detection of oceanic eddies.

Our methods have a wide range of applications with maritime stakeholders such as environmental monitoring, pollution, fishing and shipping.
