Solange Coadou-Chaventon, a 3rd year PhD student at LMD-ENS, describes and analyses oceanic fine-scale fronts in her latest paper published in JGR Oceans. Using saildrones from the EUREC4A-OA campaign, Solange describes the thermohaline properties of the sub-mesoscale fronts formed by mesoscale eddies of the North Brazil Current, which transport freshwater from the Amazon to the Caribbean Sea. These fronts play an important role in ocean-atmosphere interactions.
