[LMD recruits] Welcoming new members to LMD
This year, our laboratory is pleased to welcome new PhD students and several interns to its research teams (see list below). Their arrival marks the start of ambitious scientific projects covering a wide range of themes: atmospheric dynamics, climate extremes, hydrology, climate AI, ocean–atmosphere interactions, urban climate… as well as new work in planetary science. - Elias Wolkiewiez (sup. Cyril Crevoisier): Satellite and airborne observations of anthropogenic CO₂ and CH₄ emissions.
🌬️ DPA Team – Dynamics and Physics of the Atmosphere
- Hannah Burgaud (sup. Gwendal Rivière): Formation processes of strong winds in winter storms.
- Yann Chevrie (sup. Christophe Cassou, Florence Habets): Future modulation of water resources and carbon sinks in France by internal climate variability.
- Emma Doury (sup. Aglaé Jézéquel): French floods: hazards, exposure, vulnerability, and impacts.

- Augustin Clédat (sup. Jan Polcher, Gilles Crague): Development of a digital twin for water management in the Drôme region.
- Léo Demaine (sup. Thomas Dubos): Dynamic–physical consistency in generic geometry and thermodynamics.
🌊 OIC Team – Ocean, Interactions & Climate
- François Guegueniat (sup. Sabrina Speich, Fabio d’Andrea): Feedbacks between marine heatwaves and atmospheric circulation in the North Atlantic and the Mediterranean.
🪐 Planeto Team – Planetary Science
- Perrine Dupont (internship < 1 year, sup. Martin Turbet): Modeling the atmosphere of the exoplanet LHS 1140 b.
- Elora Maylin (5-month internship, sup. Alexandre Gauvin): Modeling Martian topography during the Noachian era (4 Ga).
