[LMD gets involved] Pride month at LMD

It’s June, the month of summer, but also the month of pride! For the occasion, the LMD has given its logo a rainbow makeover.
At a time when 55% of LGBT+ people in France report having experienced violence related to their sexual orientation or gender identity in the course of their lives, and when school and university are the first place where LGBT+phobia occurs, providing better support for LGBT+ people in higher education and research is a priority.
For this reason, the LMD is committed to ensuring an inclusive and caring environment for all, and to combating LGBT+phobia. The LMD’s charter of good conduct commits both laboratory members and management to bias-free recruitment, combating stereotyping, bias, discrimination and violence, and enabling everyone to be comfortable with who they are, whatever their sexual orientation and gender identity.
A survey, drawn up by IPSL’s Equality-Diversity-Quality of Life group, will be circulated in the coming weeks, and will include questions designed to quantify LGBT+phobia and the living conditions of LGBT+ people in the laboratory, and more generally at IPSL. The results of this survey will be used to consider possible actions.
